DJ Craze is on a rampage...
On September 22nd at MOVEMENT (Rumba Bar) in London - DJ Craze played to a packed and jumping crowd, following a set by DJ Hype with MCs Chickaboo and Fearless toasting throughout the evening. After performing last April in Bristol to a sold out show with DJ Krust, the buzz on Craze's jungle set has spread quickly... Check him, November 24th in London at the Moving Shadow Ten Year Anniversary party and in February, at the Drum & Bass Awards sponsored by Knowledge magazine.
The 2000 DMC World Championships were held September 23rd and 24th at the Millennium Dome in London. Both evenings were sold out performances with 7,000 in attendance each night. Check the DMC web site for all of the details.
On September 23rd - CRAZE & A-TRAK of the Allies took first place in the DMC Team World Championships defeating defending champions, UK's Scratch Perverts who placed second and the UK's Mixologists who placed third.
On September 24th - DJ Craze took the DMC Individual World Championships, once again defending his world title which he has held for the last two years- an unprecedented third win, for the first time in DMC/Battle DJ history. He's whatcha would call the Michael Jordan of turntablism. Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for other battle DJs, Craze will retire from competition battling this year...but...rumor has it that an international alliance of battle DJs will come back next year to compete... hmmmm. Australia's DJ Dexter placed second and the UK's Mr. Thing placed third.
On October 24th - DMC will release the first official DJ Craze mix CD within their prestigious Mixer presents United DJs of America mix series, the orignal mix series... distributed by Razor & Tie via BMG. The mix includes tracks from Trace & Optical, Kosheen, Usual Suspects, Perfect Combination, Decoder, J. Majik, Juju, DJ Craze and others. Many of these tracks were presented to Craze exclusively for use on this mix (READ - you won't hear them anywhere else.) . The album will be supported by a five month international tour that will land in at least 15 countries. The tour begins October 2000 and will end February 2001. Stay tuned for more info on that one!
